I decided to go with the 'make it yourself' route too and with a cost of under £10 for the mesh and satin black heatproof paint from B&Q, I'm pleased it came out looking like I spent a lot more! Just need to clean up the top and bottom. The silver seems to show fingerprints easily...
I have my clutch lever on 3 too and my brake lever on 4, not as my pics as I took them straight after putting them on. I didn't measure for free play and didn't adjust the engine end of the cable itself but I did tweak the adjuster wheel on the lever end of the cable. It seems spot on for me and...
Powerbronze have been going many years. I bought a full twin-headlight fairing for my RD350 NII back in the late 80s. A very good product, if a little heavy but materials have moved on now!
I used a smear of neat washing up liquid and it worked on fine. When it dries, it's sticky too so ensures a solid grip.
Personally, I found the most fiddly bit was getting the holes right for the positioning pins on the switchgear. I found the best way was to fit the bars in the position you...
Got mine fitted now. Not sure if I got the angle correct but seems to be fine. Here's a couple of pics...
The small bracket to the left is a mount for my GoPro. I've also now got the GPS mount and smoked flyscreen to fit so that'll finish the front as I want it.
Just realised you can see...
My genuine Yamaha red mesh inserts arrived today. What a fantastic service fro Yamabits. 24 hours from Jersey, CI to Northampton, UK. Very impressed and now another job for the weekend...
Thanks again for your help. I didn't know the bars were threaded and I also didn't know there were holes in the bars for the fittings!
I have decided to go for flush finish bar ends in a matching anodised red which won't require the thread to be cut in the new bars. One of the main reasons for...
Got a nice parcel in the post today... Rental ultra low bars in anodised red finish. Can't wait to fit them.
So, here's a question. What's the best way to remove the left hand grip and fit it on the new bars?
This is no longer available... The main reason I was selling this bracket was because I have an iPhone 5 and according to the Yamaha website the casing supported if, but it doesn't. My dealer has now spoken to Yamaha and they have agreed to take it back as it was not fit for purpose. It's good...
After looking at the many pics of MT/FZ-07s online, I've noticed that some models appear to have a mesh insert on the rear side panels just under the rear corners of the front seat pad that match those used in the air intakes. However it seems all the 2014/15 UK spec models I've seen have this...
