I did something a bit stupid today....

^^^ What the other guys said. I wouldn't bother getting it checked by the mechanics, the bike will be fine. If it was me I'd be relieved that steel clip smacked my boot rather than the bike. It could've badly damaged your new pride and joy, I'd rather replace a boot than parts of a new bike (or...

    Let's talk Belly Pans

Kosia, what exhaust is that? Is it the Leo Vince?

    The horn button

I have the opposite problem. I've never caught the horn when cancelling the indicators but by the same token I can never seem to find it in the heat of the moment. It's just too far over to the right to be comfortably reached by my thumb (and I've got quite big hands).

    2016 Yamaha FZ-07 arrival?

Ok so here's Stan Laurel getting a bit confused at 0:40. He may as well be trying to explain the difference between 2015 and 2016 models. Just teasing with you :p https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koNQJ3iMTf0

    2016 Yamaha FZ-07 arrival?

You've just made me chuckle... you've completely changed the goalposts in your reasoning and I can't resist my tuppence worth :) In William's original post he asks "Does anyone have an idea when the 2016 FZ-07 will arrive on the showroom floor..." and he states "Hopefully the 2016 will have a...

    UK Road tax

Wow you must have been cut off from the media/government/people to have not heard about this sooner. Personally I think it's a good thing especially for bikers, who I thought have wanted a better system than paper tax discs for a long time, mainly to get round the problem of them being stolen...

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

Ok, so I'm also impressed with SC Project. I emailed them on Thursday about the clearance issue, and today I received the spacer as promised. Read the description above each photo for more information... They actually sent me 2 spacers complete with individual bolt, cup, washer and nut...

Thanks for the link Gee, just bought these ones.

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

I'm expecting it to be just a standard M8 spacer like you can get off eBay. But it's still good to get it for free from SC. I'll definitely let you know.

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

Hi Rappetor, Thanks for your reply. Well I've fiddled with the headers and 2-1 section all morning and it's only gained me about 2mm difference at the silencer/swing arm, not a lot really but better than nothing :) As far as I'm concerned it's now physically impossible to gain any more 'gap'...

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

Thanks DeadHead and and30ers, as per your suggestions I'm going to remove and re-assemble the system tomorrow. I'll be sure to post the results here.

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

DeadHead, it looks like your silencer is positioned in such a way that the swing arm could theoretically travel up and down any amount without restriction. Mine, however, is very slightly under the swing arm at its wide point where the carbon cap meets the silencer body. This is not a problem...

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

Just fitted mine and really pleased with it apart from... I needed to put some washers between the silencer mounting bracket and the bike fixing hole, otherwise the silencer was fouling the swing arm. Even now it is close (see the attached photos). To anyone that has fitted this exhaust, did...

Found my coolant tank was hanging off!!

Lol, I can vouch for that. I've managed to round the head of a bolt at the back of my bike trying to remove it. Fortunately it came off eventually with mole grips and I bought a replacement from the dealer. No harm done but I think the same monkey as yours also built my bike :D

    Workshop manual

For someone who studies cryptography and IT security you must realise that you have just given away crucial information about your user profile on a public forum. Let me start guessing your password, might it contain the phrase 'Enigma' by any chance? Lol, just kidding with you :D

    Workshop manual

I think you guys are being a bit harsh with Peter. Also remember that with 121 posts on this forum he is hardly a scammer. For goodness sake just create a one-off hotmail/gmail account if you're that paranoid.

    Workshop manual

Thanks Peter, I'd already bought the paper version from eBay, but the link you gave me for the electronic version is a great help. I can now search by keyword rather than leafing through the binder. Both are great but for different uses.

    Would you keep your MT07?

Then be a pillion on the MT-07 and then compare! The pillion will always feel more 'apparent' pulling power than the rider so your comparison is totally invalid. Haven't you been a passenger in a car that's cornering hard? Whereas the driver can remain sat in quite a stable position, you as the...
