It's not cheap, but it's probably the thick machined alloy mount you're paying for, rather than the piece of plastic. It replaces the R/H chain adjuster block.

I did this - an easy relocation under the left side cover. It places the horn out of the elements, tidies up the front end, and I no longer have to remove the horn when I use a front head stand.

Well, I talked that one up. Just got home from a late afternoon/evening ride around the north Norfolk coast and noticed a bit of metal sticking out from one of the treads on the rear tyre. Pulled out a 1-1/4" long pin. Luckily, I have a spare in stock. :-(

I had no complaints about the grip of the stock Dunlops, but the rear was worn out at 2100 miles. Fitted a pair of PR4's, on which I've ridden 5,500 miles, and the rear is still not squared off. I'd guess I'll get another 1,000-1,500 miles out of the rear, more from the front. Excellent tyres.

The MT10 is undoubtedly a great bike, but the style is too "Transformers" for me.

I generally don't change down to first gear until I've practically stopped, and I don't think I ever use first for engine braking. On downhill stretches, I doubt you'd really need first gear.
