I still have my "previous" bike, a much-modified 1998 Harley Sportster XL1200S - 101HP, 86ft-lbs, 205kg wet, with decent suspension. Great fun, but the MT makes me laugh just as much, is easier to ride, and doesn't shake bits loose or snap drive belts.

Just browsing and came across this thread, and have an update for a UK e-bay source for the male connectors to hook up to the auxiliary connector on the bike... MT090-2 Auxiliary male power connector for Yamaha MT09 | eBay The auxiliary connector is on page 3-28 of my Owner's Manual.

Michelin's UK site always directs me to the Power SuperSport Evo as the only recommended fitment for the MT09 ABS. No problems with the stock Dunlops, but, the way it's wearing, I'd be surprised if I get 3,000 miles out of the rear. I will more than likely go with the PR4s next, as recommended...

Has anyone done this? The Yam system looks neat, with its QD rails, but I'm wondering whether the bags will foul the rear indicators with a tail tidy fitted. Or do they sit wide enough apart to miss? I can't find any pics from above or from the rear to be able to judge. Experience / opinions?

Hello from Dereham. I collected my MT-09 from Tinklers two weeks ago, hit 660 over last weekend, and it's booked in for its first service on Saturday morning. Great fun so far. :D
