Mine doesn't do that, and as you say, never had it do it on a bike previously. Sounds like it's come loose, if it's still under warranty I'd maybe take it in and see if they can repair it.

Also the amount of fake items that go through Amazon these days, I wouldn't trust what I'd bought to be the real deal.

Someone else might know properly, but did you buy the bike second hand? If so looks like someone may have spliced into the loom to fit an accessory and then simply cut it off when they sold the bike. Can't believe Yamaha would leave wiring like that without a connector so that's my only thought.

I really like that idea, gives you a decent clamping force but is also quick release. Nice solution that - I'll be looking on ebay for one now :) EDIT - just had a look, you need to search for "Bike Axle Quick Release Skewer" and it should bring up the correct items.

Sounds good - like I say I'm happy with the milder improvement I got, but I do love the look of the wider exit pipe :)

I can't imagine ACF50 working well on headers. It's basically a sticky oil based coating and the temperatures the headers get to would most likely cook it and leave a black mess on them rather than leave them nice. Elsewhere ACF50 is fantastic stuff however. I've used it on previous bikes and...

The headers aren't chrome, they're stainless.

Very hard at this time of year. The headers probably have one of the hardest lives on the bike, going through extremes of heat cycles and getting the road grime blasted straight at them. If you ride only in the dry you're doing ok, but if you use the bike in all weathers it's hard to keep them...

2015 Tracer, but apart from possibly a slightly longer clutch cable I can't see there being much difference to the MT-09 and I think all the leverage/pivots etc are all identical.

All I can say is mine has the mod and lever travel is only what I'd expect with all other bikes I've ridden. Clutch adjustment is fine too. Simply changing the cable to the R1 version and routing it as straight as possible may be all you need to do as a starter and see what you think.

Probably changed the leverage. The early bikes are well known for having heavy clutches. A common mod is to put the clutch mechanism from an R1 on it (think it's detailed somewhere on here) - the guy I bought mine from had already done the mod and it's really nice and light.

The re-map sorts the twitchy A mode. When I got mine done I was riding through town and didn't even realise it was still in A mode as it was still nice and smooth :)
