Shouldnt pull to the bar lever! Remember the lever has span adjustment, is it set on the smallest setting. If your previous bike has braided brake lines, they have a lot less give than standard rubber hoses, resulting in standard hoses feeling more spongy in comparison

i would wait till 600 miles. Its the initial 600 miles when parts wear in any old swarf is collected in the oil and filter. It has to be running and doing the miles for this to happen. If the bikes sitting in your garage I cant see the point of changing the oil now

I have the cheap chinese short levers on, about £15 from Ebay. Been on for over 2 years and 14000 miles, no problems, fit well, look good for the money. I know others on here use them and not aware of any issues
