Yamaha launches MT-09 to take on Ducati Monster 796

The Yamaha MT-09 is a middle weight super bike with street fighter styling. It is powered by an all new 3-cylinder motor which displaces 850cc in capacity. This unit produces 110 BHP of power and 85 Nm of torque, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Yamaha MT-09 weighs quite less at just 188 kg's for the non ABS variant and 191 kg's for the ABS model. It has a 14-litre fuel tank and comes with 17-inch, 10-spoke wheels which look really eye catchy.

Yamaha offers the MT-09 in 4 colours: orange, grey, blue and deep armour.

I think it is going to go up against a lot of middle weight sport bikes. May even take away from some of the liter bikes...

The Yamaha MT-09 certainly rivals other motorcycles in its weight class. It is really topnotch and boasts a lot of features that would give its rivals a run for their money.
