just had a phone call from my dealer, bike is booked in tomorrow for first 600 mile service , now they want to keep it for a few days !
to carry out an abs recall to change pump and some sort of data upload to abs system ......
the dealer has not done this before , mine will be the guinea pig !

has anyone with abs had any problems ?

will let you all know , once i get it back & have spoke to dealer in person.

IF YOU GOT THE A.B.S MODEL YOU SHOULD GET A PHONE CALL OR LETTER SOON !

Hmmmmm mine had that done before i picked mine up on march 1st 7 weeks ago is this another recall ?

As far as I am aware all ABS MT-09's have/will be recalled. The reason for my delayed delivery is for the same fault.

Don't panic fly. Some dealerships are not getting the obligatory "green light"! from Yamaha to go ahead and do the recall work. They will only do it when told to unless u physically speak to ur dealership and say "hey, when r u gonna do the recall work on the ABS system"!

MT-09 Wheelie Wheelie mental.....!

My bike is right in that VIN range (ends with 0357), but I haven't heard a thing from my Dealer. Last time I asked him, he had no idea what I was talking about, and said I should get a letter from Yamaha if there is a recall.

I've got to come in for my 10,000km maintenance, in a few weeks and would like to raise the issue again.

The only references I've seen have been on that RecalUK site, and various other forums (not exactly official stuff).

Is there an official Yamaha Recall bulletin, that I can download and print?

Hi Relz do you mean that your vin number is the 0000000000000000357 ??
Mine is the 000000000000000001596 and YAMAHA had sent to my dealer the improoved ABS unit (advic) before i took the bike in my hands.
But because i was wanted to see how reacts the 1st instead of the 2nd version, i did the change at first (1000km) oil change..

Mine was replaced last week. Dealer said they forgot to clean the inside of the abs pump when the drilled the holes in the factory and there could be small metal parts floating around as a consequence.
