Well... to say it's planted in the corners is an understatement... it just holds the road effortlessly.... Power wise it's not a patch on the MT... Its big and bulky but I was surprised at how easy it is to lean over (even in the wet)!
It's a sporty touring bike with plenty of grunt and u can still have a bit of fun on it.
I've still got the MT by the way.....

TT i saw your helmet on the seat of the new DL...
Did you have any "problems" with the lower air intake? mine was disconnected today -as it was open- when i tried with my left hand to fix better fit on my head grabbing the helmet from its nose.
Very very "sensitive"... almost fragile.. and i almost regret my new buy...
Allthough i realize the "airflow" matters as i also had installed the yamaha MT fly screen..
Sorry for the off topic mate..

Test ride or have you actually bought it (I'm sure your dealer is also a Suzuki dealer too ;-) )

Ok guys I will come clean. It seems that I mite have done a "cypher" on u lot lol.

It's a loan bike while mine was having a new rear shock, Rizoma tail tidy, Rizoma flush rear light, bar ends and a PCV fitted.

Yes my dealership is also a Suzuki dealership as well as a Yamaha one. (Voted top 10 dealership on ride magazine lol)!

It was my run around for a few days and it's now back in the safe hands of the dealer lol.

Glad to get the old girl back if I'm honest. ;)

No mate. Never had any problems with the Speed-R at all. Fantastic helmet for scratching about in, the internal visor is great but it a little noisy at above national speed limit lol.

Thank Christ I was dying to say it was frickin ugly looks a bit late 90s IMO (not that that's a bad thing- just doesn't look as nice as some more up to date bikes....)

It does get a good write up though so must handle really well for an "adventure" bike?

Glad your back on something better looking!

Quick review of the DL1000 V-Strom then.

Planted is an understatement. It will tip over in the corners etc as if it was made for twisties. It has enuf grunt to push u back in the seat and the "luggage" that can be attached to it is immense. If ur looking for a sports tourer/Adventure bike u wudnt go far wrong buying one of these and at the moment suzuki are throwing in a grands worth of luggage with it.

It comes with ABS and 2 stage TC as standard. U get a lot of bike for £10,000

Shame the front end looks like a dilapidated vulture.

Lol. I must admit the "Red switch" was a corker..! ;)

I cudnt resist it. I had a choice of wot I cud take for a loan bike...

#1. ANOTHER MT-09 = Y? I already have one of those.

#2. An MT-07 = Already had a play on that.

#3. New XJ6 = Meh...! Boring.

#4. New GSR750 = Just got rid of one of those.

#5. New FJR1300 = No way... It's the bosses AND it's bigger than the Millennium Falcon lol.

#6. The new Gladius = Y? Y wud u do that???

#7. The new DL1000 V-Strom = ok then. Looks like a piece of shit but actually was the most comfortable and easiest thing I've ever ridden.

Oh btw. "If it ain't dry, it ain't Fly"! Hahahahhaha ;)
