anyone tried to change the bulb as theyre a mofo to remove that plug. i had a good fight with mine the other day.

No idea what's caused it but it looks to me like the wires have rusted! A mean it's not like I'm on the back wheel all the time

Was changing mine just yesterday.
It wouldnt come off first time for some reason, but ones i got it off it was sliding on and off well enough.
In the end I was glad i somehow managed not to do what you did there, as everything is so tight there is too little room for my hands...

I changed the bulb in mine for a better one and yes....it was a nightmare to do. I ended up removing the whole of the light unit to make it easier to do
High resistance joint caused by crap crimping of the terminal to the cable. Chop it off and start again on clean copper. That should be a warranty issue.

Is certainly a tight fit, much easier if you take it all apart. Fitted the PIAA - 70456 - Xtreme White Plus H-4 Bulbs as here from ebay PIAA - 70456 - Xtreme White Plus H-4 Bulbs, 60 55W 110 100W | eBay
Much brighter with a slight blue edge to it.

I think that this reffers to the front light recall.
By the way, when i did it i put 2 philips white led bulps and an osram extreme light 60/55 and i have even better night riding.

Yes mate that's exactly wot I meant. I removed the whole headlight housing and it was easier to mess about with lol
Just a quick question what bulbs are already in the headlights and the ones your putting in I take it their is no worries with the wiring loom , ie taking the exta wattage and melting ? .
Should be ok, osram nightbreakers h4 are good, had them in an old van.... £15 on eBay for a pair.... Give a very slight blue tint too... Anyone tried these on mt...
Yes and they are very good. Also got them in my FZ8. Good beam pattern and like u said.... Get them cheep off eBay.

Actually there are 3 bulps, 2 small at each side of front light where i've put the philips white leds and one major in the center of housing where i 've put a bulp 60/55w Osram Extreme which provides 100% more light than standard bulp with the same life period...
These mods don't increase lights temperature and don't destroy the front light's internal mirror..
The installation is enough easy according Owners Manual.

I think the main one in the center is H4 (9003, the US equivalent.) Both the low & high beams are sourced at (stemming from) one single (H4) bulb (one bulb for all, because there are two filaments), right?
That is correct, you are absolutelly right.
The main bulp is H4 but take a look at the manual just to be more sure.
The price i bought it here in Greece was 15 euros for the main and 25 euros for the small leds (i know that are expensive but Philips says that are made to last for ever) !
The result is a much better, more white clear and wider night vision.

Greece ha? We're neighbours mate. I ride to Kabala and Tselaniko like five times a year. I'm sure Philips leds will last forever; did it affect your widened night vision positively or it's just an aesthetic/visibility mod?
I will probably go for CREE's led upgrade kit. I wonder how/if the side leds affect your vision. I'm sure it's great in terms of visibility, i.e. as a passive safety measure.
