It is adjustable isn't it? So if the mechanic does have no idea I am just cared to give it to them for adjustment. By the way it is morses in Weston super mare
 
Around the same when the first one went ....., 700ish.

Wonder if they just replaced it with the same model CCT ...
 
Called a dealer today. They told me that I have the newest CCT and according to Yamaha it needs to be tightened with a special tool or something.

Will see how long it will hold.

Ill ask to take a look at it when I go there next week.


btw, The noise suppose to disappear when you pull the clutch, right?

The noise from the left side that you mentioned is from the cluch-disk case and is another/different noise. The better oil you use the less you hear.
CCT noise is rattling noise between 3-5k rpm generally.
When mine was changed the mechanic had used one small allen key, rev up the engine and let it in a specific spot that we didn't hear any rattling anymore.
Since then i've done 5.000km... so far so good.
 
:( Mine has now got the dreaded rattle! Started 1st thing this morning on my way to work. I initially thought I had something caught in my chain or wheel.
I've got the Akra Ti fitted so I was crouched down squatting around my bike on the side of the road with my ear next to it to locate where the sound was coming from. Good thing it was 03:30 and the roads were quiet. I may of looked like a right wierdo if anyone had spotted me.
It's at its loudest at around 4k so I phoned my dealer. Got it booked it for Sat to have it adjusted firstly then if it persists they'll get it replaced.

Anyone got any pictures of the quick fix with a set screw? And what length screw have you used? Don't like the sound at all so I want to try this to keep it hushed until Sat.

They used have several very experienced mechanics at Morses (T-Moto) who incidentally no longer have the Yamaha Franchise. Your post suggests things may have changed a little under the new management.

I had my last ' 09 service at Phoenix Motorcycles, the only place I've been to where the bike has come out running better than when it went in. They have two excellent guys there, one's a Yamaha Master Tech who owns an ' 09.
