what about a MT-09 owners meet.

Which weekend in September would you like to have a national meet?

Amazing my post has been up now for two days, I know I go on a bit, but not one single reply. Would appear that there is not a great deal of interest in (A) a meet or (B) a meet along the lines I posted. Perhaps I should have posted it in the Tracer section as that is the likely group that would be up for a decent meet and ride out. If folk in this section are favouring a Track day meet can I ask why they bought the MT-09? surly a sports bike would be the tool for that jolly.

I bought the MT09 because I loved it at first sight. Having started on the 07, I knew I'd prefer the power and delivery of the 09, so bought one without a test ride. Mine's a daily commuter and a weekend blaster. It's just at home on track than an outright sports bike (admittedly, some tracks suit the latter more so). I've never tracked a bike and the thought of riding at the limit of my capability in an environment built for riding fast on a bike I love appeals hugely. That said, I'm up for a meet and a ride out on some great roads. Geographically speaking, every county is probably represented here, so organising a meeting place could be challenging.

I take your point I am retired .
But it is not that hard to organise a meet.
Post early and ask for preferred dates, preferred areas and the majority carries the day. On the SX forum we start the process usually after September meet , they have been having two a year of late April and September.
So ask admin is it possible to have a way to setup a poll were members can vote? on dates. Set up a poll on suggested areas. If you want to have folk from all over the country you are then looking at somewhere central. Wales is a popular venue.
Vote on what type of hotel lodgings required Premier Inn is popular as one decent quality rooms , also there is an on site bar & restaurant. Get someone local to pre plan a route and there you have it a good weekends fun sorted . Folk arrive Friday evening , get to know each other, ride out Saturday , drinks and a meal Saturday night , bit of banter, ride home Sunday. Works a treat , Ideal numbers not more than 25.

Well TT as you can see there has been a big rush to start planning a meet . Would appear to be 3 of us following the thread . So it looks as if, you, Fulfilled-09 and myself to have a meet somewhere down south of England lol. Or seeing as I am moving back to France a bit of channel hopping and do the Normandy beaches.

Thanks TT, what we have done on the SX Forum.

Okay this may require 3 polls or perhaps it can be played around with , but basically early doors needs to be date with a clear majority, then an agreed venue again with a majority.
Concerning the hotel/ B&B bookings that can be a different poll for when date and venue has been decided.
Hopefully you have got my drift.
I think mid summer and obvious holiday times as in school holidays should be avoided as I think it would restrict numbers, pressure from family. I would also make it open to couples/partners.
Cheers Lew

If you can find bit of tarmac not to far south I might be able to persuade DC to do a few big skids and wheelies for a few beers :D

I have looked through settings and cannot find how to format a poll. I was looking at the poll for BOTM how do you get to setting up like that.

Well I think I will pas on this now as looking at the replies to my posts or lack of replies not a lot of interest in a national meet.
Shame really as good way of meeting fellow owners.

But TT that is the ideal time to be using a forum surely. Also the best time to try and sort out a meet. If folk suddenly wakeup come spring time and think hey let's have a meet ??? especially over a long weekend. I am sure you know were I am coming from. Maybe just different type of biker forum than I am used to. I have been on the CBF 1000.com forum , foc-u.co.uk (fazer forum) and still active on the Z1000sx.co.uk.
I know you cannot stick a gun to someone's head and say get on the forum.
The meets on the SX forum usually are planned 6 months in advance.
