Hi DeadHead. Nice post about the SC Project, very helpfull. Just one question which I haven´t found the answer to: How do you remove the DB-killer, and is this easy to do? Asking as this was a dealbreaker for me (on the Akrapovic) - I want a system in which you can easily remove/insert the DB-killer. Thanks in advance

^AGREED^ Akrapovic is way over priced. As for the others, they just seemed way to bulky for what is essentially a fairly slimline bike.
If I were to make any criticism of the SC system would be that SC don't offer any performance figures or weight difference between standard and their own pipe. I only bought mine for the looks and the sound but it is nice to know these things.

Had the SC fitted today, along with a DNA air filter....baffle-out on the way home......LOUD...but a quality loud for sure.
I'm slightly concerned my midrange grunt is negatively affected, but she does spin-up quicker too. Early days and so I need to ride more before drawing any conclusions.
Baffle-in tomorrow I think.

Sounds like you are very satisfied with the SC Project [emoji4]. I also have the DNA filter fitted and probably buy the SC also. But it would be nice to hear how you rate the sound level with the dB-killer mounted (like on a 0-10 scale for standard, SC with killer and SC without killer). If you find the time it would be a great help.

I've got my ride to work in the morning....I'll put the baffle in. I'll post my ratings tomorrow...no problem.
I live in a semi-detached and my garage is at the rear, the ally between my house and next doors house is like an amplifier for the booming cacophony that is my MT-07 now[emoji1]

Been busy all day but briefly;
Baffle out is about a 7.5 compared to the loudest, most obnoxious systems I've heard.
Baffle in; about 5 compared to the above.
Baffle in to me is still plenty loud enough most of the time....perhaps left wanting in busy traffic with other loud vehicles....but then not sure I want to be loudest most of the time.
Good news is, baffle-in feels crisper low / mid range to me.
Overall, very happy.
If I was to do a track day I'd be baffle out all day long; she spins up quicker and I suspect gives a bit more up top too.

Thanks for the info - I guess that I have to order the exhaust so it will be ready for mounting in the spring. Definitely need some more sound next summer
I seriously doubt you will be disappointed in any way, from performance, sound and looks/build quality.
Had Akropovic, Arrow, Termignoni to name but a few on various bikes over the years and the SC is as good (if not better) as any.

Does yours (any of you guys) also pop quite a bit on deceleration. Mine also does it sometimes during up-shifting. Guess it's because it's a quite short (and loud) exhaust. But you guys having the same experience with it?

I was told by a Yamaha mechanic that this sound was to do with how short the after market pipes are. You get this popping on nearly all the aftermarket systems for the MT07 unless you go for the long Arrow systems

It's at exactly the moment I close the throttle and pull the clutch (so the engine falls down in revs). Guess it's about the same as the 'normal' popping. Doesn't happen in the higher revs, only around the middle (4-5k).
Guess nothing to worry about and just enjoy the sound then

Just fitted mine and really pleased with it apart from...
I needed to put some washers between the silencer mounting bracket and the bike fixing hole, otherwise the silencer was fouling the swing arm. Even now it is close (see the attached photos). To anyone that has fitted this exhaust, did you have a similar problem or can you give an indication of how close your silencer is to the swing arm? If it was too close/fouling, what did you do to fix it?
The first photo is from underneath the bike to show the washers inserted, the second photo shows the clearance of the silencer as a result of the washers. Without them it was touching.
