ABS problem/recall

Hi All
A friend of mine down south has just received his MT-09 with ABS. He has only done 150 miles and arrived home from work this evening to find a letter stating that there has been a recall with a problem of the ABS system. I thought I would join this forum to find out if anyone else has had a recall or if there is any more detail of what work is required and how long it will be in the shop for the repair. Just now he is a bit pi**ed off and wanting blood.

In Germany and the US some owners received a letter from Yami-san.
Framenumbers are known. Mine is one of them.

Yep, been there. I collected the bike on Saturday, received a phone call from the dealer on Tuesday. Total mileage 136..

Why's he pi**ed off? Yamaha will sort it, they're doing everything that's expected of them, and quickly too.

Look at Suzuki with their brake problems, some of those bikes were being ridden on the road for years before Suzuki did anything about it!

Where is this list of frame numbers so I can see if mine is one of the faulty ones?

Found the frame numbers affected. Mine will be going in for the ABS recall Damn a brand new bike and already going in for a recall Hope this is the only recall it will have.

Received the letter today. Contacted the dealer and problem will be solved with first service at 1K.
With a previous MT01 I had 3 recalls, but no problem: you then get new pieces for free!

Just got the phone call from my dealer for the ABS call. The ABS modulator has to be exchanged then the brake system is bled assisted by computer software. Its going to take the whole morning for the process to be completed.
