Added LED Foglights and Heated Grip and USB

SO today I got bored and added the following. Let me know what you think. The lights will stand out hopefully in the night better, so will post another pic tonight when it gets dark. they are actually very very bright but pic doesn't show.I used a fuse bridge and put a link into existing park light wiring loom behind headlight. Pretty easy now that I know how to do it. Took me about 3 hours. Reckon next time would do in 60 minutes. The oxford grips are awesome, gives a fatter feel also and come with a battery saver mode which switches them off after a few minutes. Its a must have for 69 quid

forget to take a pic at night. They are awesome and super bright. Real safety feature also. 24.99 ebay. They are pretty ggod quality.
 
the fog lights look really nice i may look into having a set myself . extra lighting always a plus day or night .how much did u pay for the hot grips ? had some on the SV i learned on . ad i guess the biggest question would be how much of a game is it to fit the above i dont have much experience with bike electrics

the grips were 69 quid and fitted free by Yamaha when I bought the bike. They are really good trust me. You can buy the leds on ebay

you can either wire them into another switch, but as I already have a het grip control and usb on my handlebars I didn't have any space so wired straight into the front light/parking light. I want them on as daylights also so this is not a problem. They increase the safety and make you really visible. I'm looking for a rubber grommet now so I can attach over the rear nit to hide it, but no rush. A number of bikers have chatted to me and said the lights are great ides as they have ssen them when parked up.

Same you guys a far away otherwise I could help you to fit them if you ever buy them. I looked at various places to fit them but this was the best and easiest in the end.
 
I changed my headlight to a Xenon White light replica also so matches the led fogs. The original headlight bulb as a pale yellow. YUCK
 
I may have made a rod for my own back, but I've not gone for Oxford grips which connect straight to the battery. On advice of my local bike shop, I bought some Daytona heated grips. These have to connect to an ignition switched power source.

Could be fun, but I've done similar ones before.
 
You could of done that with the Oxford ones, but I wouldn't recommend any heated grips fitted that way. Always use a relay, remember this bike is built on a tight budget, I wouldn't put any extra load on the wiring.
 
Did you take the panels off to route the wiring to the battery compartment? I have Oxford hour grips to fit didn't do them today tracked up a few miles round and about scrubbing the tyres

I used a tracer and just pulled the wires through. Spent a while looking at how to get the bodywork off, but it looked to be more trouble than it was worth.

If you're keeping track of your mileage and fuel consumption, remember to make a note of the miles on the trip before you disconnect the battery.

Oh, and I tried my grips this morning. They don't need the full warm-up time before they get too hot. At least they work ok.

grips arrived yesterday :) i was nervous about fitting them but after reading up and a few you tube videos had a go at it . there's no need to cut the grips off i just put a 4 mm t bar between the bars and grips and rolled it round like i was opening can of corned beef .the grips slipped off with very little effort..leaving little or no residue on the bars. i slid the new griips in place and used a small amount super that was provided to make sure they don't move.
using a coat hanger i pulled the power lead through the chassis and connected the battery
feeding the cables behind the head light and tie wrapping in place was the next thing followed by the heat controller to the bolt that holds the clutch lever in place . I did need to straighten the bracket slightly for the desired fit.
to my surprise it worked first time and looks the proper job

now its raining so i wont be road testing them just yet but quite a simple job even for a novice like me.

fitted a tutoro chain oilier as it arrived in the post this morning i'll take pictures and post soon as i more than 3 % battery

its simple and a breeze to fit just waiting on a dry spell
