*****aftermarket ecu flash*****

Do we rename the two ECU threads for ease of reading?

I re-read the literature today that was sent out to all Yamaha dealerships and there was NO mention of VIN numbers. The ECU map is for all 2014 bikes only so if u have a 2013 bike the dealer MAY be a twat and not do it.

*****On a side note*****

The dealer HAS to buy the machine from Yamaha UK to do the flash and if they don't it CAN NOT BE DONE!!!
I'm guessing all the people who have been told "this and that" as to why it can't be done are being fobbed off or the dealership are just skin flints and don't want to get the machine to do it....

Surely if the dealer has sold you a 7 grand bike an theirs a remap then they must all get the machine regardless of how much it costs them ?

YES YES YES
Had mine done today and this is how it always should have been. STD mode is now your always go to mode with A for fun and B for the rain.
Can't detect any loss of power or get up and go, just a lot smoother from closed and small throttle openings.
If you have any issues with the current throttle then I can only say do it.
For me the fun is back and I can concentrate more about my all round ride and less on what the throttle might do.

Great news boro, just to clarify is it the "official" Yamaha flash you've had done, free by the dealer?

Whats the news on Simons flash? I think it was TT who first informed us of it? Have you got any more info on it mate?
Maybe ive missed it amongst all the "GATE" action!!!

im waiting for my chinese brake lever to go wrong.......then we can start a 'mastergate'ing thread..............

U'd think that wudnt u..!

They don't have to get a machine...! Same as they don't have to do warranty work if they don't want to. (Especially when u know how little they get paid by Yamaha for warranty work)! Dealerships elect to sell Yamaha's not the other way around I'm afraid.

Yes it was me who informed u of that lol. *stands well back incase of more moaning*!

I'm gonna talk to simon when he's back off holiday (nxt week I believe)!
He bought an MT on Saturday so he is gonna "tweak it"! and then do mine.
Spot if ur reading this...... The plan is to take the super dooper mental map off my PCV, load it onto my ECU (which means we keep the dyno map and get rid of the PCV)! and do all the other bits at the same time i.e engine braking, de-restrict 5th & 6th gear, make it start up in A mode all the time, lower the temp the fan cuts in at etc etc. will keep u posted as and when peeps.
Peace out [emoji111]

Yes official flash, also as an update into day 2 now and its is soo easy to go fast now. I'll need to watch myself as you don't have that stutter, so the power transition just encourages you to keep the throttle open.
Wouldn't say it's 100% maybe 90% but you can actually go faster and harder as you can really modulate the throttle with greater precision and reliability without upsetting the bike.

Can anyone give a good reason why allot of Yamaha dealers dont seem to know about this ECU flash or say they dont, my local dealer said they hadnt heard of this an also i know someone whos been into Streetbike Birmingham, a big dealer an they say they dont know about it either, you cant be tellin me that Yamaha uk have,nt informed all dealers about this ECU update , i find that very hard to believe
