Coolant light came on

....when I was going up a fairly long hill(2miles ish). Was on for about a minute. Pulled in then it went off itself without turning engine off. Coolant level ok and temperature ok. Carried on for another 10 miles or so till I get home and again checked everything but all seems well.
Anyone else had this situation or can throw any light on it?

Throw any light on it, ha, I saw what you did there.
Dunno why the light would come on unless the temp sender is a bit dodgy.

Will only come on if the motor is overheating ... could be a dodgy sensor but you'd best get it into your dealer and have them check it. That way you have it on record should anything actually go wrong in the future.

keep an eye on the coolant temperature whilst the bike is running, the light comes on due to overheating and not cooling level. Most likely a faulty switch

Temperature was ok unless it shot up briefly.
Will keep my eye on it...
