G2 Throttle Tamer Info & Review

Yikes !

I once bought a secondhand mountain bike frame from the states, cost me about £43 on the exchange rate at the time.

Customs hit me for £50 and wouldn't release the parcel until it was paid for in advance over the internet.

Was a cracking frame though and built my dream bike from it .

I ordered the 'throttle tamer' from G2 about 3 days ago and have just been notified that it has been shipped.

In fact I have been notified that they have shipped both 'throttle tamers'! Looks like I added two not one to the order - idiot!!

If anyone is interested in getting the 'spare' one once they arrive then please pm me and I will let you know the price once I have seen whether there is VAT to pay. I paid a total of $184.90 made up of $159.90 for two throttle tubes and $24.75 shipping.
Oh man! If you put one in the for sale section I'm sure it'll sell quite quickly [emoji3]

Done. Will know price once they arrive and see if any duty to pay.
I'd buy it if I had another bike it would fit! If it doesn't sell on here then check my first post for the other models it fits and stick it on ebay. Pretty sure someone on here will have it though, it's a no brainer really, why buy from the states if theres one sat here in the UK?!

Just placed an order via Rutmonkey total inc shipping £51.70 remains to be seen if I get stuffed with import duty.

Arrived today, no import duty to pay. Fitted in 15 minutes (10 of that was wrestling the old grip off). Been for a ride and there is a noticeable improvement in the throttle pick up, not totally snatch free but much smoother transition from a closed throttle. Now just need to sort some new suspenders.

The more you ride with it the better it gets, I found that I was instinctively holding back on throttle roll on as I was always expecting a jerk which in itself created a jerk as at the point I needed to grab some throttle to make up for the fact I'd hesitated slightly in the first place, the more I rode with it the more the hesitation instinct disappeared so getting on the throttle was even nicer. That and also the fact that the roll on was always in the back of my mind but again the more I rode with it the more I just forgot about it which in turn made it smoothr again. In short I'm pretty sure that even thinking about the jerk was unintentionally amplifying it.

mine will be here tomorrow , now i have paid my £30 duty :( but hey , shes gonna be sweeeeeetttt . phoned track electronics today , they have my mt to flash /map . the chap on the phone said he had found a throttle limiter ? and was trying to work out the speed limiter . i ment to ring back , but due to local flooding , roads blocked , and horrendous traffic , i did`nt make the call , so will find out tomorrow how they got on , fingers crossed

Keep us informed, I am most interested in sorting out fuelling, but removing the speed limiter would be an added bonus. What to they charge, and is yours their test bike? Will let them experiment with yours before I take mine in!

£30! That seems a bit steep as I just paid £34 duty for my fuel controller which has a value of £150.

I'm gonna give them a call this morning to see how they got on , I think mine is the first , so looking forward to hearing how they got on .

Mine arrived this morning, luckily no tax or duty, 5 days from USA is pretty good service I think? Fitted in in 10 mins. I must say I was a bit sceptical, but you are all right it makes a huge difference, not perfect but much much better, went out for a test ride just put in in 'A' and left is there. One happy MT owner:D

Great post.... Great write up! Went for my first 'Real Ride' today, popped in about 180 miles... Through the Welsh Twisting Hills.

Have to agree on the throttle, I'm pretty sure this mod will help greatly! It will be the next upgrade...
