Hi all,

Just joined as looking at change from my F800GS and thinking about Tracer.

Test ride booked PM and British summer time is in full flow - torrential rain and wind ;-).

Why Change.

Hi,

just fancied something different after 4 years, thought about adventurer version but also damaged my knee on my MTB last year so feet down helps. Cant fault the GS, but didn't really use it for what its built to do. I used to have an XR400 for green lanning, but kickstart wore me out. I have done Torotrails with Lyndon in Spain (years ago) and that was good laugh but don't think my knees would stand up to it know. Still got an urge to do Morocco trip.

MT-09 seems to me as the perfect everyday bike for an ex off-roader...
XR 400 is simple and reliable for "dirty" fun as the MT-09 for fun on road!
As the MT is much cheaper than F800GS you may don't need to put anymore money..
But consider that if you often carry a pilion, then the beemer is the correct bike for you, cause MT-09 is good only for solo riding as any other short, low and light bike.

Nice, I pick mine up on Saturday, cant wait.
mines coming with heated grips, rad guard, givi rack.
hope you enjoy it.
