I believe mine is at the post office, i was at work yesterday and Crabstick junior was at college so we missed the postie. Will be collecting tomorrow.

Bahh sadly no, I shall collect it on the way to Saturday morning work, normally I wouldn't work Saturdays but we got all behind because we lost a phase at work and no ramps would work, apparently some pikies chopped down a tree and trashed the power lines, but anyway we are very busy so Saturday working for me on some shit Rover with a bad head gasket.

Kev's O2 Sensor
Hi every one just made a trip up to Brisbane and had Kev fit one of his famous O2 Sensors and what a great up grade it made a very user friendly bike to ride I would recommend it to all MTO9 riders has totally changed my bike.

Kev I'm assuming this is the same kind of sensor u get in the kit when u fit a pcv?
The O2 controller will work with any map loaded, as none one has correct the A/F ratio tables in the closed for any map.
Good to meet you today Rick nice to meet guys with simular interests, you came a long way just to have the O2 controller fitted, Rick has a Dyno built custom PCV map with one of Dyno Jets O2 optimizers + Akra titanium pipe + BMC filter, today we removed Dyno Jets O2 Optimizer & replaced it with my O2 controller which runs the closed loop richer.
Yes Dyno Jet's O2 Optimizer & my O2 controller both work on the same principle, Dyno Jet's answer to the closed loop mapping is their O2 Optimizer which is supplied with all PCV's for the MT/FZ09 which works far better than not having one, I tested their O2 Optimizer & the closed loop A/F ratio is around 13.8 to 14:1, I tuned my controller to approx. 13.4:1 where the 09 responds nicely to the change in A/F ratio.

We took my sensor off as it made no difference whatsoever lol
In the testing we did with the O2 sensor disconnected the closed loop ran around 14:1 & after a few mins or riding in the closed loop it starts to cycle the A/F ratio & would end up at times as rich as 12:1 in the closed loop & the bike starts to splutter a bit between open & closed loop transition's. The closed loop is really funny on this bikes as it is not consistent in what it does with the O2 sensor disconnected, at times it would take 10 to 15 min of cruising before the closed loop A/F ratio would start to mess around. I messed around with inline resistors trying to stabilize these closed loop spikes, then gave up & fitted my master adjustable O2 controller & found the sweet spot for cruising with a consistent A/F ratio.
The latest 1290 KTM's are dead easy with the O2 sensors disconnected we fit a 1meg OHM resistor across the signal wire & a 330 OHM resistor across the heater & the closed loop is fixed at 13.8:1, but we found the bike does not like changes to altitude with the O2 sensors unplugged, it does not full compensate for altitudes as the O2 sensor is apart of the equation for the L trim tables (L Trim tables are intake manifold pressure verse RPM fuel tables) We found the ECU uses the O2 senors to measure the oxygen level at different altitudes.
The "trim" operation for the injector-timing is only complete, if there is a "long time adjustment" by the Lambda probes available too, if this information is missing, the ECU, before it starts "interpreting" the remaining set of variables, goes on its "default setting" and drives the injectors by the internal factory set up - this one which fires up the engine after a reset - without any trim, the problem is this default setting is not fixed on the 09 & the closed loop A/F ratio cycles as mentioned at untimed intervals, Dyno Jet also found this problem when the O2 sensor was disconnected.

my controller arrived yesterday and I fitted it last night, went for a ride today and it cured the surging or hunting at cruising speed, great job I highly recommend this mod, foggy red ps I forgot to say my bike is a 2014 which had the ecu reflash done at its first service.

Just got from my favourite pub ride that is very bumpy and the bike is great such a pleasure to ride now or so much easer what a shame that Yamaha could not come up with this fix.

O2 controller all fitted along with EJK fuel controller (cheers Ripgroove).
Bike started up and running OK but not test ridden yet.
One tip, if after re-fitting the tank (taken off for EJK installation), you have three silver screws left, you forgot to bolt the airbox back on - DOH

Collected mine from the post office, looks very well made, not fitted yet as had visitors staying over and it's too bloody cold to go out in the garage and move 6 bikes to make some working space now they gone.
