I rode my Tracer for the last time today to collect my Super Tenere from the dealers. Riding it highlighted all the good things that attracted me to it in the first place, but riding the S Tenere back home confirmed that for me at least it's the ideal bike. and seeing as I can only afford one bike the S10 won !

If his dealer is any good then it would have been checked before he took delivery. I didn't even mentioned anything to mine and he mentioned it to say it had been checked and was in the clear.

A notice on VOSA’s recall database says: ‘The gear shift cam segment stopper may develop a fatigue crack. If not identified, this could result in the inability of the rider to select gears.’


The recall was launched on Tuesday (07th April '15) and is thought to affect a relatively small batch of 2015 editions of the MT-09, R6 and Super Ténéré XT1200Z.

According to the notice, the remedy is to 'recall all affected machines to replace the gear shift shaft with a new remedial component'.
