OHLINS suspension

Hi Chaps,

Does anyone know where I can get OHLINS for the MT-09. Just the rear shock at first. I have trackdays booked this year and in my opinion it is way too under damped.

- Ressorts de fourche en 900 gr : 139 € la paire

i dont think the pants are savable.........at least it wasnt a thong! im curious as to the state of the womans pants who pulled out of a parking space with no signal, i could see her duck down behind the steering wheel in her side view mirror as i fishtailed up alongside her...........

what does rear shock have to do with it then?
 
the front dived like a stuka, the rear lifted up like a seasaw and the back wheel unloaded........that would never have happened on the street triple
 
I dont find the suspension to bad. Have firmed both front and rear, and its good enough to keep with sportsbike on the roads around norfolk/suffolk (ie bumpy!)
I find for road use, the suspension is fine, much better than my R1
If your a trackday addict, it may be be lacking

I guess it depends on your weight?
 
I think the suspension is spot on for the road and not horrible the track. Just needs that final tweak to be perfect.

FYI - I called Ohlins UK a few weeks back and they said......

"For the MT-09 there is the S46DR1 rear shock at £545 and the 30mm Nix cartridge kit at £1218 inc vat and springs to suit your requirements. These are available now from Sweden so availability is around 10 days".
 
Wowza, that's a #cuking expensive front end !

As a percentage of how much a base bike costs, that is a bit OTT, I know that will never grace the front end of my bike.
I'd be willing to spend £450 (£225 per leg) and add on postage that bumps the whole hog up to the magic £500.
Anymore and I would be looking around for a front end transplant off another bike that has been broken up for spares.

Aye. It's too rich for me!
Then again, if I start saving now with the intention of fitting it in a couple of years it might feel like having a new bike :)
