Yamaha recommend Yamlube, any good quality 10/40 semi-synthetic will do, make sure it's OK for motorbikes as it has a wet clutch and mileage enhancers (PTFE etc,) will cause it to slip. Check that 10/40 is ok in your country it might be a bit warmer there?

I use BELRAY EXS 10w50... as it is better quality than Motul.
Allthough Motul 5100 was fine in my DL 650 for 100K km, our triple engine needs the best for long lasting performance.
