Optimate leads

Hi lads ,is it safe to just connect the leads or is there any special procedure to follow?,as with all this electronic smoke and mirrors stuff I don't want to chuff it up.

With mine, ensure charger is off at wall, be very sure that red is to pos and black is to neg, turn on at wall, walk away.

What I meant was the actual connection to the battery terminals with the lead?

Just straight to battery that's how I have done
mine with no problems

Optimate is idiot proof, even if you put it on the wrong terminals it won't do any harm just a red light comes on to tell you to switch them.
