Hi, i have just got myself a pcv. The fitting instructions and you tube tell me to fit an o2 optimiser although one is not supplied with the unit ? Is this needed ? I have fitted a diy fueiling device before an a xt660x that didnt require an optimiser. Plan on fitting pcv with a dna filter this week on a dyno.

Tis all a new adventure for me this power commander and dyno business, am planning to have pcv and dna filter fitted by a recognised dyno technician in heywood, lancashire. I am just a bit confused about the o2 optimiser, do i need one ? Will it effect the performance of the bike ? I do plan on adding an aftermarket exhaust in the future. Would appreciate any advice guys :-)

Hi Dave. As u can see from my signature....
I have a full Two Brothers system with DNA filter and PCV which was tuned by Dynotech racing down in the south near me.... no o2 optimiser fitted as u won't need one...

Just one more query thats biting away in the back of my head ? If i fit the pv5 and dna filter with a custom map off the power commander website.. Why do i still need to have it custom mapped on a dyno that would cost more £££'s that i could spend on fuel to ride the bad-boy :-)

U can always download the map and put it on the PCV urself and then fit it but it will still need to get dyno'd so it can be smoothed out coz we all know every bike is slightly different on fuel/power/torque etc.

Personally I wud just get the PCV fitted and have a custom map written for ur bike. A good dyno tech shud only take about 3-4 hours to write a map for u

So if I fitted the pcv myself with downloaded map then book a custom dyno run in say 4/5 weeks time. This would be ok ?

Yes that wud be completely fine. It's exactly wot I did. Points to note thought. Don't bother doing any of that till uv got an aftermarket zorst as most of the base maps r for specific zorsts.
