Suspension change zx9r E1?

Hi Guys, just purchased my mt09 yesterday in Perth Australia.
I had a zx9r which I loved, but unfortunately got knocked off a week ago.
I have the option of keeping my old 2001 zx9r, with only a light crash. ( fairings scratched, and broken clip on, peg hanger. )
Just wondering if any one would happen to know if the suspension from the zx9r would fit the mt09? It may be a cheap option / mod for me.
Any help and advice appreciated.
Simon

I believe the ZX9R shock is the same length as a ZX10R shock but is 2mm narrower on the top mount. It would need shimming to fit................... afaik.

just thinking on from this............ if you mean the OE shock on the Kwak I think you'll struggle as the reservoir may well foul on the undertray on the MT.

Thanks.
I've chosen not to do it anyway. Probably better to leave alone rather than buggering up a nice new bike anyway.
Some times my mind works better than my ability.
The stock suspension is as good as I need, as I'm not hammering around a race track, and don't intend to lose my license.
