Tom tom urban rider updates

I've got a tom Tom urban rider I bought it in 2014, how do you go about getting the maps updated? For free if possible! Cheers.

Download Tomtom home from the website, this should recognise your satnav but you will have to register the device first if you have never done it, if not then your maps are way out of date to start with...as about free maps see if your device as free lifetime maps
