topbox on steel luggage rack

Hi Guys,

Anyone fitted a topbox to the steel luggage rack? Yamaha website says not... feels easily strong enough

I have been looking at the Givi Trekker 52L silver on black but 1. I don't know if the weight will be too much for the plate.

Not a problem. I've got the standard Yamaha rear rack and fitted my Givi Monolock box using a standard Givi mounting plate.
I think Yamaha's a bit concerned about users overloading the bike with both topbox and panniers. I have Metal Mule racks and panniers on mine, but remove the topbox when using the panniers and vice versa.
