WTF is that?!

Was riding home today and suddenly started started smelling funny. I was following some chopper so obviously the first though I had is that it was that POS. Then we parted our ways and the stench continued so it became obvious that it was me. Arrived home, decided to sniff around, walked to the right side of the bike and I see this!:

Any idea what it could be? Looks almost like some kind of gel. Checked the bottom of the radiator and doesn't look like something's leaking. Also, this is the second or third time that I've noticed the smell, just didn't pay attention before.
 
Not sure mate, engine seemed clean when I looked, can't see anything out of the ordinary.

Looks like you run over a plastic bag, Get it all the time on the cars i go out to (breakdown service) Best way to get it off is get the exhaust hot and scrap it off. Mind your hands though!!!!
 
Plastic bag would make sense. Never had it before so panicked a bit :D

I don't think you can run anything else over in London :)
