mt MT is still stock.....it got real nasty on 1 ride up round TT's way but it hasnt made a sound since. i reckon my thrashing must have stretched it enough to get the next tooth on the adjuster to click in.
More than likely mate...

and my turn...started just before 1000km, will be replaced next week...
dealer said it wont damage anything, just annoying sound
So anyone know if yamaha updated the parts on new mt09s to avoid this problem tormenting them forever?
Mines now done 4500 miles, been rattling last 3500 miles, not a bad rattle, mainly noticable 3-4000 rpm. Been back to dealer countless times, the mechanic reckons it sound fine, and written to Yamaha, they said nothing they could do if dealer reckons its OK.
As far as I'm concerned, I have tried to get it sorted, and if it does go pop I have proof I told them about it countless times.
To be fair, hasnt got any louder last 3500 miles, just annoying.
Will be interesting to see if any debris in oil at service time
Cant you just drive to another Yama dealer?
the cam chain snaps and destroys the engine
Does anyone know after which engine number they came with the updated tensioner as standard?
Or are there any identifying marks on the updated tensioners so I could identify if mine is done?
Finally, what exactly is changed - is it just a bolt or are there internal parts as well ?
Just had mine replaced and the rattle is even worse than before. Before I left I asked the mechanic if any adjustment is needed and he is that is it self adjustable ! So he has not tried my bike even bloody dealers ! Should I go back and complain or adjust it myself?
