Just set my CO settings back to Zero again....
Mainly because I was missing the extra grunt. Going back to Zero was like discovering the 'A' mode for the first time all over again
I think I'm also getting a bit used to the
snatchiness, as it's bothering me less than before, although it's a bit too soon to decide. Time will say...
I found that if I enter my problematic corners in a higher gear than before (i.e. 3rd instead of 2nd), and make sure to give the bike as much gas as I dare as early as possible, it's quite controllable. I think the extra strong torque compensates for the too high gear, as it has enough power to easily accelerate out of the corner in 3rd.
Either way, I plan to go down a different route, of trying to adjust the TPS or APS a bit better. I read a bit about it on the US forum, and indeed looking at the diag menus you can see a definite jump in the TPS from 16 - 21 (in my case) as soon as you roll on the throttle. According to the manual, the minimum setting could be anywhere between 11-21, so theoretically it may be possible to set the throttle to start after that jump, at 21.
I haven't yet removed the tank, or even seen where the TPS or APS are located, so it's all in theory so far.
One thing that confuses me is that I'm not totally sure what's the difference between the
Throttle Position Sensor, and the
Accelerator Position Sensor.
Or why there are two diag entries for the TPS (1&13) and two for the APS (14&15), as each pair seems to convey the same information...
From a quick (unprofessional) look at the diag entries (14&15), there is no jump in the APS it rolls linearly from throttle closed to opened. This could make sense if it's tracking the actual movement of the throttle grip, thank god I don't have Parkinsons yet, and I can still roll on the throttle without jumping/skipping a bit at the beginning...
What exactly is the TPS tracking? Why does it skip a few numbers at startup? Is that the cause (or a symptom) of the snatchiness that we feel?
I'd appreciate any input before I go around mucking with the sensors.
